<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Exodus 3;16-18<div><br></div><div><b>16. &nbsp;Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt;&nbsp;</b><br><b>17. &nbsp;and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt, to the land of the Canaanites,&nbsp;&nbsp;the Hitites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.’”</b></div><div><b>18. &nbsp;And they will hearken to your voice; and you and the elders of Israel&nbsp;shall go to the king of Egypt, and say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, we pray you, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Why does the LORD not speak of the hardships and sufferings that await the Hebrews? &nbsp;Instead, He only speaks of the Promise of a new homeland for them. &nbsp;<i>“A land flowing with milk and honey.”</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>(Notice also that the words He commands to be spoken to the king of Egypt, say, <i>“the LORD, our (Hebrew)&nbsp;</i><i>God, has met with ‘</i><u>us</u><span>’”</span>&nbsp;? &nbsp;When He had&nbsp;at this point in time only&nbsp;spoken to Moses?<span></span></div><div>Answer: &nbsp;God’s children are all one in Him. &nbsp;We are united as members of His Household. &nbsp;Within God’s creation, there is perfect communion, and&nbsp;a single Mind.)</div><div><br></div><div>Future sufferings are not to be thought of as evil or negative. &nbsp;God is working good out of everything for us, including all the painful, fearful things we must face as we follow Him and His will.</div><div><br></div><div>This is why we are commanded, <i>“Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God&nbsp;in Christ Jesus for you.” &nbsp;</i>(1 Thessalonians 5;16-18)</div><div><br></div><div>If our discipleship leads us into pain and suffering, God is still working good. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The ‘homeland’ that the LORD our God is leading us into, requires that we leave our ‘old self’ behind, and by faith dwell in&nbsp;Him, and further, mysteriously, meta-physically He dwells in us. &nbsp;We also have been&nbsp;slaves to sin and death&nbsp;in the darkness of our passion, lusts, selfish will, and&nbsp;pride. &nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>All this must be left behind. &nbsp;This means pain and suffering for us as well. &nbsp;Such pain and suffering are good, they are proof God is at work in and for us.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, only in Christ are we able to rejoice and give thanks when our flesh is tempting us to complain and be discontent. &nbsp;Deliver us from our old selves dear Father. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric/Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
