<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Exodus 3;7&amp;8<div><br></div><div><b>7. &nbsp;Then the LORD&nbsp;said, “I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; I know their sufferings,</b></div><div><b>8. &nbsp;and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>When the LORD says, <i>“I know their&nbsp;sufferings” </i>&nbsp;is He speaking only in an intellectual way?&nbsp; As you and I know information about&nbsp;the sufferings of people whose lives have been devastated by&nbsp;flooding,</div><div>we, by nature,&nbsp; are incapable of personally experiencing other’s pain and sorrow. &nbsp;We in Christ are called to show compassion and empathy toward others. &nbsp;But, once these poor people are no longer a part of the news-cycle, their pain and suffering are mostly forgotten.</div><div><br></div><div>Jesus said, <i>“Truly, I say to you,&nbsp;</i><i>as you did it&nbsp;to one of&nbsp;the least of these my brethren, you do it to me.”&nbsp;</i><span>&nbsp;</span></div><div><span>(Matthew 25;40). When the LORD says to Moses, <i>“I know their sufferings,” </i>this is not objective information devoid of personal involvement, this is intimate and personal. &nbsp;Our sufferings are ‘hard-wired’ directly into God’s own heart. &nbsp;As&nbsp;Christ is&nbsp;in us, we too are to be responsive to the pain of others. &nbsp;Especially members of the Body of Christ, for we are, <i>“members, one of another”. &nbsp;</i>(Romans 12;4&amp;5)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Paul carried a gift from the churches in Galatia to the church in Jerusalem because of their sufferings.</span></div><div><span>Church to church offerings and gifts are most appropriate. &nbsp;When one member suffers, all suffer. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Question: &nbsp;Whose land was&nbsp;it,&nbsp;that&nbsp;flowed with milk and honey? &nbsp;</span></div><div><span>Answer: The LORD’s. &nbsp;He gives (loans)&nbsp;it to whom He chooses.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Whose home do you live in? &nbsp;Whose food are you eating? Whose money do you spend?
