Why have you left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The Midianites as a people were &nbsp;polytheistic, they worshipped many gods. &nbsp;This does not rule out the possibility that Reuel (also known as Jethro) may have worshipped the God of Noah and may have known of the promises made to Abram and his descendants. &nbsp;This is all speculation, but the God of the flood who preserved Noah and his family was indeed known and worshipped&nbsp;among the nations. &nbsp;If not by Reuel, then by others. I personally believe Reuel was just such a worshipper.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>God has his ways of bringing people together. &nbsp;He seems to use ‘wells of water’ both in the Old and the New Testament as the backdrop for many of these ‘unplanned’ meetings. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Moses most likely had a little time to hurriedly&nbsp;prepare for his flight out of Egypt. &nbsp;He may have a camel or two to carry the things he knew he would need to survive independently for some time. &nbsp;He certainly dressed and groomed himself as an Egyptian.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Yesterday, we read that Moses <i>“sat down by a well,” </i>this is significant. &nbsp;Moses did not know what to do next.</div><div>He had succeeded in escaping Pharaoh, but now what?</div><div><br></div><div>We also have, ‘now what’ moments of uncertainty in our own lives. &nbsp;Frantic aimless activity is unproductive. &nbsp;Sometimes we need to <i>“be still”</i>&nbsp;and prayerfully wait to see what God will bring into our lives, just as Moses did. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Jesus teaches us that faithful Believers receive the Word of God as <i>“good seed”</i>. &nbsp;They, <i>“hold it fast in honest and good hearts”&nbsp;</i>prayerfully meditating upon it. &nbsp;They <i>“patiently bring forth fruit”. &nbsp;</i>(Luke 8;15)</div><div><br></div><div>I imagine Moses wondering as he say by the well, “Could my fearful situation still be a part of God’s plan of deliverance promised to my ancestors?” &nbsp;It was a moment for faith.</div><div><br></div><div>When we have our own, ‘now what moments,’ after some calamity or tragic event in our lives, our faith remembers Jesus promise to us. <i>“Lo, I am with you always; to the end of the earth.” </i>(Matthew 28;20)</div><div>Do not allow your old nature and the devil to fill you with despair and hopelessness. &nbsp;This is shameful unbelief. &nbsp;God still loves you, no matter what sort of a mess you think you have made of your life. &nbsp;His plans for you are still to bless you and make you a blessing. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><i>“ For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, Planned for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” &nbsp;</i>(Jeremiah 29;11)</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, deliver us from the powers of fear and unbelief. &nbsp;Bless us with wisdom to cling tightly to Your own good plans for us. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric/Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
