Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, and thought, “Surely the thing is known.”</b></div><div><b>15. &nbsp;When Pharaoh&nbsp;heard of it, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh, and stayed in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Our text tells us the Moses knew he was a Hebrew. (v.11) &nbsp;Moses already had concern for them and their sufferings. &nbsp;Having been raised in the royal household, and knowing the story of his own miraculous deliverance, Moses must have questioned in his heart, ‘For what has God saved me, what purpose.’</div><div><br></div><div>I believe Moses has correctly concluded that God had destined him&nbsp;to be a ‘deliverer’ of <i>“his people.”</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>However, When he took it upon himself to kill the Egyptian, he acted in obedience to his own thoughts and reason. &nbsp;(This is illustrated in Paul. &nbsp;He writes of it in Romans 7; how we, by&nbsp;our flesh, cannot rightly serve the will of God.)&nbsp;It was not God who commanded Moses&nbsp;but his own rationality.</div><div><br></div><div>Even though we do correctly&nbsp;know some of&nbsp;the will of God, we are called to be servants. &nbsp;Servants, <i>“wait upon the Lord.” &nbsp;</i>(Isaiah 40;31)&nbsp;But,&nbsp;we do not know all of God’s will or of His timing for His will to be carried out. &nbsp;Walking ‘with the Lord’ is not running ahead of Him, even if we know where He is going.</div><div><br></div><div>As God always does, He used Moses sin <i>“for good” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 8;28&amp;29)&nbsp;to direct Moses to Midian,&nbsp;where God would humble Moses. &nbsp;He went from being a prince&nbsp;of Egypt, to being&nbsp;a lowly shepherd. &nbsp;In his state of humility God would then give him further guidance.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, do what You must to us to reduce us to utter self-contempt, so that we may abandon all&nbsp;self-lordship, and become like Christ, a suffering servant. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric/Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</div><div><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
