<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Romans 16;21-23<div><br></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you; so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsman.</b></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;I Tertius, the writer of this letter, greet you in the Lord.</b></div><div><b>23. &nbsp;Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus, greet you.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>These are they who are with Paul at the time of the writing of the Letter to the Roman’s.</div><div><br></div><div>The writer/secretary (who&nbsp;was Paul’s scribe) Tertius, identifies himself and&nbsp;<i>“greets” </i>them,<i>”<u>in the Lord.”</u></i></div><div><i></i>This is no meaningless phrase. &nbsp;It is the actual condition of those who<i>“walk by the Spirit” </i>(Galatians 5;16 and Romans 8;3-17) according to the, <i>“Law of the Spirit of Life </i><u>in Christ Jesus.”</u>&nbsp; (Romans 8;2)</div><div><br></div><div>We have power from God through faith in&nbsp;Christ indwelling us by the Holy Spirit, to put to death the deeds of the body and walk-in newness of Life.</div><div><br></div><div>Doing so requires us to think meta-physically, we are cleansed vessels into which God has taken up residence through our baptism. &nbsp;<i>“We have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us.” </i>(2 Corinthians 4;7)</div><div><br></div><div>By faith in Christ inwelling us, we are able to do that which by our own strength we cannot.</div><div>We can, <i>“Deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Jesus.” </i>(Matthew 16;24)</div><div><br></div><div>Such meta-physical thinking would appear to be common in the early Church, but sadly,&nbsp;<span>rather rare today.</span></div><div><span>The modern and post-modern Church has been wounded by rationalism, Aristotilian thought, and fear of loss of subjective control of our lives. &nbsp;But, I ask you, ‘What does, <i>“That I may be His own, and live under him in His kingdom, and serve him in ever-lasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness.” </i>(Luther’s Small Catechism, Explanation of the Second Article of the Apostles Creed)&nbsp;mean’?</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, deliver us from rationalism which denies that Christ by the&nbsp;&nbsp;Spirit indwells his Bride the church. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric/Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div><span>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>


Romans 16;21-23
