3. &nbsp;And as he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4. &nbsp;“Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign when these things are all to be accomplished?”
5. &nbsp;And Jesus began to say to them, “Take heed, that&nbsp;no one lead you astray.
6. &nbsp;Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.
 
Ann Lee (1736-1784), founder and leader of the ‘Shakers’ claimed to be the female reincarnation of Christ on earth.
William W. Davies (1833-1906). LDS, Walla Walla, Washington, claimed to be the archangel Michael,&nbsp;and his sons claimed to be Jesus and God the Father.
Cyrus Teed (1839-1908) claimed to be Christ and that the earth was hallow.
Manuel Herrick (1876-1952) “Okie Jesus” Congressman.
Krishna Venta (born Francis Hermon) (1911-1958) claimed to be Christ come to earth in a convoy of rocket ships.
Sun Myung Moon (1920-2012) unification Church, claimed to be the Messiah come to finish the work of Jesus, mass marriages.
Jim Jones (1931-1978) Peoples Temple, claimed to be Jesus reincarnated. &nbsp;Mass murderer of 909 people, committed&nbsp;suicide himself,&nbsp;&nbsp;Jonestown, Guyana Nov. 18, 1978.
Marshall Applewhite (1931-1997) claimed to be a Jesus, leader of Heaven’s Gate, leading 39 people to kill themselves.
Charles Manson (1934-2017) &nbsp;criminal cult leader, claimed to be Christ,&nbsp;ordered the Tate/Labanca murders Aug. 9&amp;10, 1969.
Shook Asahara (1955-2018) declared himself to be Christ, ordered the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo Subway. &nbsp;Executed.
David Koresh (1955-1993) Branch Davidian cult. Waco, Texas. AG Reno ordered US Government&nbsp;attack upon the ‘family’. &nbsp;&nbsp;All died by fire and firearms.
A J Miller, (1962-) JW Elder claims to be Jesus Christ, leads the “Divine Truth”&nbsp;movement in Australia.
 
This is but a short list of false-christs known to us. &nbsp;There are many more. &nbsp;All very dangerous. &nbsp;All of them evil.
 
Certain patterns and similarities are to be found in most, ie.&nbsp;sexual repressions, perversions, and special exemptions for these cult leaders. &nbsp;Group immorality, poverty/signing over property to the cult leader,&nbsp;violence, crime, murder, often revolutions and culturally dysfunctional rejections of traditional marriage and paternally led&nbsp;family life, duplicitous deceitfulness toward outsiders, denial of parental authority,&nbsp;all are typical.
 
Recognizing these as demonically inspired rejections of the authority of God’s Word, (which claim to have a higher authority to create new laws for their followers), is really not hard to recognize and reject&nbsp;for those who know the scriptures, and who know, God does not change.
 
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the wicked, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, nor stands in the way of sinners.” &nbsp;(Psalm 1) &nbsp;Believer discern what is false, they reject it, and make a point to avoid all association with false teachers. &nbsp;
 
Those who are ignorant are most vulnerable, along with those who are socially isolated or estranged. &nbsp;Isolated, lonely, and confused people are&nbsp;in the greatest danger. &nbsp;This is another reason why we need to belong to a local congregation of confessing Christians who will care for us and warn us when we are being preyed upon. &nbsp;Those who stay apart, or&nbsp;who&nbsp;stray from the flock,&nbsp;are easy pickings for Satan.
 
As Jesus said, “Take heed, lest you be led astray.”
 
Those who make God’s Word the source of your light, life, truth, and peace need not fear. &nbsp;“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. &nbsp;In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3;5&amp;6) &nbsp;‘Trusting in the LORD and ‘acknowledging’ Him,&nbsp;means knowing God’s Word.
 
Prayer: &nbsp;Most Merciful Father in heaven, deliver us from false christs. &nbsp;Bless us with wisdom from above to discern those who despise and reject the truth of Your Word. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.
